A full-height marble backsplash carried up behind the range, with matching counters either side.
Running stone up the wall instead of tiling it turns the range into the centre of the room. The slab behind the hood was selected and cut so the veining continues out of the counters on either side.
It is a detail that only works if the material is chosen as a set at the yard, which is why we ask homeowners to come and pick their own.
